SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police unveiled a new patrol vehicle on Tuesday as a reminder that we can prevent domestic violence.
The new purple and white car has the domestic violence awareness ribbon as well as a hand printed logo for STOP Domestic Violence.
“We thought we’d take it a step further and have a police car that’s purple and white, and we thought we’d take it a step further,” Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said. “Other than the fact that the car will be purple and white for the month of October, it will be purple and white year round. And the reason for that is that domestic violence is an important issue that needs to be discussed year round.”
If you or anyone you know is a victim of domestic violence, you are asked to call your local police department.
