BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts state trooper has been accidentally shot.
A state police spokesman said the trooper was injured Tuesday “as the result of an apparent accidental weapon discharge” at the department’s Emergency Vehicle Operations Center in Devens.
The injured trooper was flown by medical helicopter to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
The statement did not indicate whether it was the trooper’s own weapon or someone else’s weapon.
No other information was immediately released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
