Love triangle spurs Mississippi college shooter motive

CLEVELAND, M.S. (NEWS10) – The manhunt is over for the man accused of shooting his live-in girlfriend and a university professor to death.

Police say Shannon Lamb shot himself Monday night after a short pursuit. Police say Lamb is accused of opening fire on a professor at Delta State University on Monday.

He is also accused of killed his live-in girlfriend, possibly as a result of a love triangle.

Lamb was on the run for several hours and when police finally tracked him down, they followed his car briefly before he took off on foot and turning the gun on himself.

Lamb was pronounced dead at a hospital.
