KINDERHOOK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The first candidate for local Congressman Chris Gibson’s seat threw his hat into the ring.
John Faso officially launched his campaign for the 19th congressional seat Monday morning in Kinderhook. If that name sounds familiar, here’s why:
Faso ran for New York governor back in 2006, but was defeated by democratic rival Eliot Spitzer.
He also lost a bid for state comptroller and used to serve in the state assembly.
Congressman Chris Gibson announced that he would not be seeking reelection shortly after winning the vote for his third term earlier this year.
