BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Major changes are coming to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter after a group of residents criticized the county over how the shelter was run.
The board of supervisors appointed Jason Hayes the new director. He used to work at the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society.
Before the board approved Hayes, numerous people who work at the shelter spoke out. They said conditions at the shelter are very poor, and they claimed hired staff members do not properly care for the animals or perform their duties adequately.
Clifton Park Town Supervisor Phil Barrett said he did not see any negative conditions at the facility during his visits, but he did agree the culture of employee relations needs to change.
