ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office announced the completion of targeted railway inspections.
New York State and federal inspectors graded 445 crude oil tank cars, 128 miles of track and 66 rail switches. The inspections are part of Cuomo’s push for increased safety on the railways.
Inspectors found and addressed four critical defects and 91 noncritical defects.
Critical defects include items such as defective gauges. Non-critical defects include items such as burnt out lightbulbs and damaged signs.
