Child car passengers recognized in National Safety Week

WARREN Co., N.Y. (NEWS10) – This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office has two events planned to help ensure all children are safe while riding as passengers.

On Monday certified technicians from the sheriff’s office will inspect child safety seats at the Stewart’s Shop on Quaker Road in Queensbury. It’s free of cost and will happen from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A similar event will be held next Tuesday at the Stewart’s on Farrar Street in Warrensburg, also from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The national highway traffic safety administration says three out of four car seats are not used correctly, jeopardizing the safety of the child riding in it.
