Primary day rundown for voters

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Thursday kicks off primary day in New York.

Before you head to those polls, here’s a quick rundown of the big races and candidates.

In the Democratic primary races, we have Albany County executive incumbent Dan McCoy facing challenger Daniel Egan, a former city school board member.

The winner will face Republican Joseph Vitolo and Green Party candidate Dan Plaat in the general election in November.

In Cohoes, voters will be electing a new mayor.

The race will be held between Shawn Morse and Cohoes Common Councilwoman Dianne Nolin.

In Troy, three candidates will be vying for mayor.

On the Republican side, tomorrow’s primary will determine the race for the Rensselaer County sheriff.

Voters will be picking a supervisor in East Greenbush, as well.
