Police arrest Troy man for slamming into parked cars overnight

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a man was arrested after he drove the wrong way in the city and crashed into several parked cars.

Troy Police say around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night a vehicle was seen driving the wrong way on Fourth Street in the area of Adams Street.

Patrols responded and located the vehicle on the sidewalk and the driver was found passed out in the driver’s seat. He is being identified as 35-year-old Lance Yanus of Troy.

Police say Yanus struck several vehicles causing extensive damage. He was then taken into custody and charged with DWAI Drugs/Alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, wrong way on a one way street, and several other traffic infractions.

He is scheduled to appear in Troy City Court Wednesday morning.
