LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police arrested a Watervliet man after he was found driving with a blood alcohol content almost four times the legal limit.
Just after 1:10 p.m. on Friday, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident where the vehicle was down an embankment on Mohawk Mountain Road in Lake George.
According to police, a brush fire had started under the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 40-year-old Peter Catalano. He was not injured in the accident.
Police said Catalano was slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol. He proceeded to fail a field sobriety test, according to police, and was taken into custody.
Catalano was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated for having a BAC over.08 percent, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated for having a BAC over .18 percent.
Catalano is scheduled to return to Lake George Town Court at a later date.
