MILLIS, Mass. (NEWS10) – A Massachusetts police officer who said someone shot at his police cruiser before it crashed and caught on fire is accused of making up the entire story.
On Wednesday people were asked to remain inside for several hours as police, including S.W.A.T. team officers, scoured the wooded neighborhood of Mills looking for the reported gunman.
Officials say the only ballistic evidence recovered at the scene was from shots fired by the officer into his own cruiser. Police aren’t sure if the officer set the car on fire.
The 24-year-old part time Millis police officer who claimed he was a victim, will soon be fired, and will face charges.
