DANNEMORA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Officials say Clinton Correctional Facility is on lockdown, after fights broke out inside the prison.

Authorities say the prison fights led to a thorough, facility-wide search where both weapons and drugs were found inside the building.

Convicted killers Richard Matt and David Sweat were housed there before they broke out on June 6, leading to a manhunt spanning for three weeks.

Sweat was captured while Matt was shot and killed by authorities. Prison officials say they expect the facility to remain on lockdown until next week.
