200 marijuana plants seized in Rensselaer Co.

HOOSICK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The New York State Police in Brunswick say they seized about 200 marijuana plants as part of an extermination initiative in Northern Rensselaer County.

In a combined effort with State Police Aviation, BCI Investigators and Uniform Members, a helicopter was utilized in locating several areas with illegally grown marijuana.

As result of the efforts two people were arrested and charged with Unlawfully Growing Marijuana.

Police say 25-year-old William Harkness of Hoosick and 31-year-old Terence Markiewicz were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Hoosick Court on a later date.
