National Grid donates old books to local charity

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Giving back for a cause.

National Grid presented books and money donations to the program Grassroot Givers to give old books a new home.

National Grid ran a Book and Toiletry Drive to collect needed supplies for the program’s 9th annual Day of Simple Giving, which is held in November. It’s a community project to help the underprivileged.

Hundreds of books have been donated.

Additionally, the organization donates materials to Books for Troops, a non-profit organization that collects and sends books to American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
