AURORA, Colo. (NEWS10) — A Colorado man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for killing 12 people and wounding dozens more at a movie theater.
James Holmes has been sentenced to twelve consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
At the formal sentencing for the 2012 theater shootings, Holmes also heard a withering condemnation from the judge. The judge described him as someone who had quit on his friends, his family and his life, and decided to take other with him.
The judge said no words could adequately capture the continuing horror from Holmes “evil” act that killed 12 people and injured 70.
