BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A Rensselaer County man was sentenced Monday for crimes that occurred in August and October 2014 in the towns of Clifton park and Halfmoon.
Alvin Dubois, Jr., 59, was charged with Burglary in the First Degree and Burglary in the Second Degree.
He was sentenced to 25 years’ incarceration and five years post-release supervision for the first charge. He was also sentenced to five years’ incarceration and five years post-release supervision for the second charge.
The victim of the first incident addressed Dubois in court. She detailed her struggles, injuries and the items stolen from her residence, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.
Dubois is a convicted level 3 Sex Offender as a result of 1989 conviction.
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Buckley handled the case and said Dubois is a “predator and menace. His criminal conduct has continually escalated over the past 30 plus years he has been committing crimes. The threat he poses to the community has been removed today for the 30 years he is sentenced to serve in state prison”.
