Albany Co. announces citizen of the month

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An award was presented on Monday by the Albany County Executive to a person who goes above and beyond to make his or her community a better place.

Perry Junjulas is the August winner of the Albany County Citizen of the Month Award.

He has served as the executive director of the Albany Damien Center where he has worked to help those diagnosed with AIDS in the Capital Region.

“We have the tools to end AIDS to bring new infections down right here in Albany County, so I am looking forward to working with the county officials to really drive this forward and really become a leader in the state as we are working to reduce new infections and take care of people,” he said.

Junjulas also sits on the governor’s AIDS Taskforce Committee.
