ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A New York State senator is calling for a crackdown on synthetic marijuana.
In July, the American Association of Poison Control Centers issued a warning about the dangers of synthetic marijuana.
Senator Jeff Klein introduced new legislation to strengthen penalties for selling the drug.
He called it a “very real public health threat to New Yorkers, their families and children.”
Doctors said people who take the drug often suffer from extreme paranoia, which leads to fits of violence.
