TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Man accused of a Halloween night assault pleaded guilty in court.
According to Rensselaer County District Attorney Joel Abelove, Cody Santalucia pleaded guilty to one count of Assault in the Third Degree.
In the early morning hours of November 1, 2014, Santalucia attacked Ray Felix, who was dressed as a scary clown for Halloween, in an alley near Bootlegger’s on Broadway in Troy.
Felix said he was harassed by a group of men and one assaulted him so badly he was rushed to Albany Medical Center.
Santalucia was apprehended on December 28 after he posted social media messages regarding the assault and taunted law enforcement agencies, according to Abelove.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 5. He will be sentenced to nine months in Rensselaer County Jail. A full stay away order of protection will also be enforced.
Abelove said Santalucia will be ordered to pay restitution to Felix.
