SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Good food isn’t hard to come by at The Saratoga Race Course, but we are letting a secret out of the bag: some of the chef’s on site are, or have been stars on the Food Network Channel!
One of those chefs, Dom Tesoriero started his Saratoga life as “the chowder boy” back in 2011. Just one year later, the star chef launched his mac truck food truck, which is proving to be a recipe for success.
“I don’t know, it’s like mixed emotions like learning how to deal with that and just kind of accept it,” said Dom Tesoriero, Competitor and Food Network Star.
Dom Tesoriero’s life is really heating up!
“People walking by and pointing at the truck has always been something that is a normal thing here, but at this point, people are walking by the truck and pointing at me, you know, I’m not just the macaroni and cheese guy anymore… I’m the guy who’s on food network!” he said.
“It’s been a wild ride and the amount of positive feedback I’ve gotten from the viewers and the fans of the show have been incredible for me,” said Dom.
Unfortunately, Dom was eliminated from the cooking show on episode eight, but that doesn’t mean he is kicked out of the kitchen just yet.
“Anyone who has been watching the show knows there’s a side competition called “star salvation” where one finalist gets to come back and maybe get another opportunity to win the whole thing,” Dom said.
Tesoriero won that challenge and will now compete in the finale. While that is sizzling on the back burner, you can savor the flavor of Dom’s creations right at the track. He says no matter how far his tasty goodness takes him, he plans on carrying out the Saratoga tradition.
“Saratoga is going to be a summer staple for me for as long as they’ll have me. Win or lose, I’m just going to keep on truckin’.
Pun intended! Will he win it all?! You can catch the season finale of food network star this Sunday night at 9:00 p.m.
