Food grown, eaten on space station

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (NEWS10) – Freeze dried space food is so 21st Century.

Astronauts are eating fresh food on the International Space Station.

On Monday, they ate red romaine lettuce that was grown in space on the ISS.

The concept of a space garden is necessary for future deep space missions such as the planned visit to Mars in 15 years.
