CENTRAL BRIDGE, NY – A very busy night for firefighters after a large fire broke out in a multi-level home
About 70 firefighters have been out fighting a massive blaze that broke out at this multi-level home on south Main Street.
Large flames were seen bursting out of the home around 2:30 a.m. and it just so happens there was a fire department right across from the home.
The chief says all three families that lived inside got out safely and only one suffered from minor injuries.
The chief says the fire may have started in the back of the home but there’s no definitive cause of the fire just yet.
This was a fire that took over an hour to put out, according to the chief and because the home was right across from a fire department, a call was made quickly.
“Actually quite lucky,” Central Bridge Fire Chief Scott Johnson tells News 10. “We had somebody here at the station within two minutes that made the initial call for extra departments until I arrived and made the further calls.”
The chief says the home is considered a total loss and an excavator will be called in later to tear down a part of the home that’s leaning down.
