Firefighters knock down Troy blaze in Little Italy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Firefighters were hard at work taking down a blaze at 261 Fourth St. in the Little Italy neighborhood of the city on Sunday afternoon.

Various departments responded to the multi-alarm fire, with thick flames and clouds of smoke billowing.

Troy Fire Chief Tom Garrett said when crews arrived to the scene, the fire was burning heavily in the back of the building. He added the heat made the fire difficult to fight.

The Red Cross and National Grid were also on scene.
