To combat the heat; pool hours extended, pools distributed around Capital Region

Just in case you can’t find a big pile of snow to help you cool off this week like they are still experiencing in Buffalo, several Capital Region cities have you covered.

The City of Troy announced it is extending hours at city pools Wednesday and Thursday in anticipation of the heat.

Open swim at South Troy and Knickerbacker Pools will be from 1-8p.m. The five spray pools in the city will also be open.

Pool hours are extended in Cohoes as well; the Lansing pool will be open from 10-8p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Anyone without cool air can also call 911 or go to the fire or police departments for help.

In Albany, Victory Christian Church will be giving out 200 kids pools to parents on a first come, first serve basis, that’s at Noon Wednesday at Swinburne Park.
