FISHKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A Wappingers Falls woman was arrested after she entered a correctional facility while wanted on an active arrest warrant.
New York State Police were sent to Downstate Correctional Facility for a report of a wanted person at the prison.
Amanda Murphy, 26, had an active arrest warrant for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. At the prison, she was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle, which she had brought inside.
Murphy was taken into custody and transported to the Wappinger barracks where she was processed on the charges of Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Murphy was arraigned at the Village of Fishkill Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $400 bail.
She is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Fishkill Justice Court on August 19.
