SPRINGFIELD, MA (NEWS 10) – The wake for Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Sullivan will be held Sunday at the Sampson Funeral Home.
He’s one of the four service members killed on July 16 by a gunman who attacked two military facilities before being killed by police.
Witnesses say Sullivan played a key role in shepherding 13 Marines and a sailor over a perimeter fence and out of danger during the shooting.
Services start at 1 p.m. and are open to the public.
A private funeral service will be held for Sergeant Sullivan on Monday.
The public is invited to show your support along Sumner Avenue as people did on Friday when the funeral procession passed through Springfield.
