Albany officials ask businesses to support Albany Devils

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – County and city officials hope to keep the puck dropping at the Times Union Center for years to come.

At a breakfast Wednesday morning, County Executive Dan McCoy and Mayor Kathy Sheehan were in penalty killing mode, pressing business leaders to support the Albany Devils.

A lot of western affiliated AHL teams have packed their bags to be closer to their home NHL clubs, which has left some big vacancies in a lot of northeast cities.

Devils CEO Chis Ciceri was almost speechless after learning of Times Union publisher George Hearst’s offer for major season ticket holders.

“If you’re a season ticket holder and have ten season tickets worth $6,800, he’s going to give, in kind, he’s talked about creating this budget for you and you’ll get $6,800 in free advertising,” said Ciceri.

The Albany Devils CEO went on to say that the team has also struck a multi-year partnership with the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway as well.
