Video shows El Chapo’s escape from Mexican prison

MEXICO CITY (NEWS 10) – Mexican authorities have released surveillance video showing the moment drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped from his prison cell through a hole in the shower floor.

The video shows him pacing in his cell, walking in and out of the shower several times, before disappearing in the tunnel below.

That escape happened Saturday, just over a year after he was captured following his 14 years on the run.

Mexican authorities have questioned nearly 50 people so far in connection with the escape.

Authorities say there has been no sign of him since this video showing him escape.
