SoCal kids become orphans after mom killed in ice cave collapse, dad fatally shot

MORENO VALLEY (KRON) — Four children California’s in Moreno Valley have become orphans in the span of seven days after losing both of their parents in separate incidents.

Anna L. Santana, 34, of Moreno Valley, was killed on July 6 during a hike inside an ice cave in Washington. The cave collapsed and a large pile of ice and rock came down killing Santana and injuring four others including her son, fiance, and her brother who remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Then Sunday night, the children’s 35-year-old father Adrian Cardona was shot and killed following an argument outside Lulu’s Hideout Bar in San Bernardino, KTLA reports.

According to the report, surveillance video showed three men outside the bar at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call the San Bernardino Police Department at 909-384-5655 or 909-384-5965.

Meantime, a GoFundMe account has been set up for the children — 2 girls an 2 boys ages 14, 12, 8 and 1 — who have been staying with relatives.
