Man riding bike gets hit by car in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a man was hit by a car on Friday night while riding his bicycle.

The Schenectady Police Department says they are investigating the auto – cyclist accident, saying it happened at 11:13 p.m. on July 10 near the intersection of Foster and Manhattan.

The preliminary investigation shows that the victim, a male in his mid-50s, was struck while riding his bicycle.  The victim was treated on scene by members of the Schenectady Fire Department and transported to Albany Med, where he underwent emergency surgery.  Currently the victim is listed in stable condition.

The accident is currently being investigated by members of the Traffic Division and the driver has not yet been ticketed.
