TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Capital Roots is squashing out hunger with their new community gardens.
The Troy program donates more than 24 tons of fresh food to local pantries, shelters and soup kitchens. This is the 50th garden of its kind.
Local farmers donate fruits and vegetables and some gardeners even grow food specifically for the “Squash Hunger” program.
They do take volunteers if you want to get involved, just check out their website at Capitalroots.org.
