WATERFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a teen was arrested after throwing an M-80 at a mailbox and blowing it up.
Authorities say at about 12:30 a.m. Monday, an officer was on routine patrol and saw a vehicle on Fonda Road in the Town of Waterford. The cop says he witnessed the passenger in the vehicle throw a lit projectile out of the window and into a mailbox. The projectile exploded and destroyed the mailbox.
Turns out…. The projectile was an M-80. After investigating the incident, the officer arrested the 16-year-old from Cohoes.
He is being charged with Criminal Mischief, Arson in the fifth degree, and unlawful possession and use of fireworks.
The defendant was arraigned and was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $7,500.00 bail or $15,000.00 bond.
