LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The highly anticipated opening of a Sonic restaurant in the Capital Region is right around the corner.
The fast food chain held a soft opening on Saturday ahead of their official grand opening on July 6.
On Saturday, the restaurant hosted an invite-only event with proceeds benefiting the Colonie DARE program.
“We expect to open eight to 10 restaurants in this vicinity – Capital District – in the next four to five years,” Kurt Dolittle with Sonic said. “Troy is location number two. That’s confirmed. We’re looking to spread out – Saratoga Springs, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, eight to 10 stores in this area when all’s said and done.”
The Troy restaurant is planned to go on Hoosick Street.
