Siena bball fans, former athletes gather for ice cream social

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Wednesday afternoon, fans of the Siena College men’s and women’s basketball program got a glimpse of the new-look Saints teams.

The college hosted an ice cream social on the lawn in front of the Marcelle Athletic Complex. Saints supporters also had the opportunity to check out the progress of the ARC improvements and to hear from men’s coach Jimmy Patsos and women’s coach Ali Jaques.

Three former Siena standouts also made a cameo appearance: O.D. Anosike, Ryan Rossiter and Tehersa Coles.

The trio said they were exicted to be back in a place they once called home, and they were curious to see what was next.

“Jimmy, I mean, he’s a great guy, great coach; very intense,” Anosike said. “The guys play hard, and I think they really enjoy playing for him. Unfortunately, last year, they go hit with the injury bug, but I think they’re gonna bounce back this year.”

“I see they’re gonna keep going up,” Coles said. “I mean, it’s just going to keep getting better. They’ve made such a statement, and they’ve come such a long way that I can’t see them going back now.”

“I think Jimmy’s been doing a great job,” Rossiter said. “They had a tough year. They had a couple big injuries last year with Brett and Imoh and even Robbie down at the end of the year. But they have a good class coming in. If everyone stays healthy, I think they could be really good this year and content for a championship.”
