WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) –The Watervliet Arsenal wants to spend a good chunk of money to upgrade critical facilities.
$27 million in improvements to be exact.
The facilities to be upgraded date back to the mid-1800’s. That money will pay for six different projects which include replacing main water lines installed just prior to WWI.
Officials say they also want to replace the main power substation that was installed in 1959. They’re also hoping to renovate the arsenal’s firehouse…which was built in 1848.
The Arsenal says they will coordinate and supervise the project without any additions to its workforce.
