TROY, NY (NEWS 10) – A Troy Housing Authority official has been arrested after the Welfare Inspector General’s office he collected nearly $50,000 in public assistance he was not entitled to.
In an application for food stamps, 57-year-old Paul Moses said he had no employment or income.
Investigators say he has been working as a bartender for the past nine years.
He has been a tenant representative, elected to the authority’s board of commissioners since 2009.
Moses is now charged with grand larceny and welfare fraud.
