Suspect flees after shooting a man in the foot in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Police say a man was shot near Congress Street just after 3:45 Sunday morning.

Schenectady police say they received multiple calls reporting that shots were fired in the area of Bailey Street and Congress Street.

Responding officers found that a 25-year-old man had been shot in the foot. He was treated on scene and transported to the hospital.

According to police, the victim’s injuries are not considered life threatening. The suspect was last seen fleeing on Bailey Street in an unknown direction. Police do not have a description of the suspect at this time.

Police say several shell casing were located in the area of 566 Congress St. The incident is still under investigation.
