ELMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On Saturday, we will find out if American Pharoah will be the first horse to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed did it in 1978.
All signs point toward American Pharoah being the horse to finally end the 37-year drought. He’s the 3-5 morning line favorite in the eight-horse field.
He looked great in the first two legs of the Triple Crown, especially his domination in the Preakness. According to his trainer, Bob Baffert, the thoroughbred has looked great in his final gallops before the big race.
“Enjoying what he does, he’s a very happy horse, and you can tell he was enjoying himself out there,” he said.
NEWS10 ABC sports anchor Liana Bonavita will be in Elmont for the excitement leading up to the race, the post, and the big moment when we find out who crosses the finish line.
