Police looking to identifying suspect in Home Depot theft

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman suspected of stealing a man’s wallet from Home Depot.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident which occurred on May 8 around 7:30 p.m.

Police say the victim left his wallet on the checkout kiosk in the outside garden center of the Home Depot in Amsterdam. The woman in line behind him took the wallet, put it in her shopping cart and concealed it with her purse. The wallet contained $950 and several credit cards.

Police say the suspect exited the store along with her two small children and husband. Police say the man in the photo is her husband.
