ALBANY, NY (NEWS 10) – Friday is the deadline to apply for a medical marijuana license in New York State.
The state will only approve five licenses.
If a business is licensed, they will still have to find a location and get local approval before building the facility.
A total of four companies have shown interest in putting dispensaries in our area.
- Etain LLC is eyeing locations in Queensbury and Albany.
- North Country Roots wants to put a dispensary in Clifton Park.
- Empire State Health Solutions is hoping to turn the “Tryon Technology Park” in Fulton County into a grow facility.
- Compassionate Care Relief Centers of New York is considering a Washington county site in Cambridge.
The licenses are expected to be awarded sometime in July. The law states no more than one dispensary per county will be allowed.
