Police: Woman accused of stabbing, robbing man in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a woman was taken into custody after police say she stabbed a 66-year-old man and tried to take his money.

Troy Police say on May 26 around 11:35 a.m. they were dispatched to the area of Canal and Fourth Streets for report of a stabbing. When they arrived, officers located a male victim. He sustained a slash to his arm requiring medical attention. He was brought to Samaritan Hospital for treatment and is expected to fully recover.

Officers were able to quickly locate witnesses who saw the incident go down. They say 41-year-old Jody McKnight of 73 Park Ave. in Cohoes was taken into custody for the assault and robbery. She was arraigned in Troy City Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail.

Police say the victim was acquainted with the defendant and it is believed that the victim’s cash was the motive.
