ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – We’ve seen leaders of both the state assembly and state legislature step down amid federal corruption charges. Now you can add one more voice to the calls for reform at the Capitol.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has proposed a new bill that would give his office permanent jurisdiction to investigate allegations. His legislation would also raise representatives pay while banning outside income and extend terms to four years.
He’s calling on lawmakers to act on his suggestions before session ends on June 17.
