SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS 10) – It took five years, but another murder case in is now closed with one man being sent to prison for the rest of his life.
That was the sentence handed to John Wakefield Wednesday morning.
He was convicted in the April 2010 murder of 41-year old Brett Wentworth, at a home on Wendell Avenue.
It took more than two years for Wakefield to be found by police and charged with the killing.
The judge ensured Wakefield will never be released by sentencing him without the chance of parole.
