Guilderland Highway Dept. employee struck, killed by truck

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A 19-year employee of the town of Guilderland died on Friday after being struck by a compactor truck.

The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East Highland Drive and Country Lane in Guilderland. Sean McCutcheon was a Town of Guilderland Highway Department employee.

The 54-year-old was riding on a town Highway Department compactor truck picking up yard debris.

At one point, McCutcheon tripped and fell and was then struck by the truck while it was backing, according to police. McCutcheon was treated by paramedics at the scene and later transported to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

McCutcheon was a 19-year employee of the town.
