QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say they arrested a man after he allegedly broke into a home, assaulted someone, and then damaged a vehicle by using his head.
Officials say on May 17 the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Kyle Mickel of 11 Birch Avenue, Glens Falls on one felony count of Burglary and one felony count of Criminal Mischief.
According to authorities, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Mickel unlawfully entered a residence on Glendale Ave. and assaulted a subject while he was sleeping. Based on the information provided, Mickel’s ex-girlfriend was staying at the home and Mickel had no relationship with the other person.
Before leaving the property, Mickel also damaged his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle kicking the rear driver’s side window, shattering the glass and hitting his head against the driver’s door denting the frame. Mickel left the scene on foot and was taken into custody a short time later without incident.
During the investigation, officers learned Mickel and his ex-girlfriend have a 17-month-old son together who he had left alone and unattended at his residence on Birch Avenue. The child was unharmed, however the investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.
Mickel was arraigned at the Queensbury Town Court and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to reappear later this month.
