Hundreds walk and ride to support brain tumor research

SARATOGA, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Hundreds turned out on Sunday morning for the annual Team Billy Ride and Walk for Research at High Rock Avenue in Saratoga.

Their mission? To to promote awareness and raise money to find a cure for brain tumors. The organization says almost 700,000 people in the United States have a brain tumor.

But it only took one of the 700,000 to inspire Saturday’s event. Twelve-year-old Billy Grey died of a brain tumor in 2001. Billy’s strength, courage, and love inspired his parents to take action. In 2005, they formed Team Billy. They have since raised over $2 million for brain tumor research.
