Hampton man arrested for threatening a couple with a knife

CHESTERTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Police arrested a Hampton man this week after he allegedly threatened a couple with a knife.

Police say 46-year-old Mark Mattison has been charged after police received a report that Mattison was swinging a knife and threatening a couple who’s dog approached him while he was walking down the road.

Mattison faces the following charges:

  • Menacing 2nd
  • Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd
  • Non-criminal offense of Harassment

Mattison was arraigned in the Town of Chester Court and remanded to the Warren County Jail without bail due to two prior felony convictions.
