ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Organizers of St. Sophia’s 2015 Greek Festival are expecting thousands to turn out to this year’s event.
As usual, the festival will have live Greek music and dancers in native costumes keeping the festival alive.
There will also be a Greek pastry shop, food shows under the tent, souvenir and jewelry shops, amusement rides for children and a tour of St. Sophia.
A new feature you can expect to see at this year event is the “e kouzina”, a casual dining room filled with home cooked authentic Greek entrees.
According to Chef Ted Kondoprias, it doesn’t get any better or realer than this.
“It’s like SRO all the way through but with Greek music and a lot of good entertainment. Our young youth does a lot of dancing, traditional Greek dances from the old country,” said Ted Kondoprias.
The festival will be held Friday 6-11p.m., Saturday 12-11p.m. and Sunday 12-7p.m. Price of admission is $3, children under the age of 12 are free. Admission includes a complimentary festival guide and raffle ticket.
A continuous shuttle bus is available to additional free parking at the center for the disability services located on south manning Blvd. in Albany.
