Saratoga man charged for theft from The Zucchini Brothers’ van and multiple other car break-ins

SARATOGA, N.Y. (NEWS10)— Police arrested a Saratoga Springs man on Thursday in connection to a string of car break-ins, victims included the popular children’s group The Zucchini Brothers.

Police say they received a report of a man stealing items from a car in the parking lot of D’Andrea’s Pizza on Caroline Street on Thursday afternoon. The man, 33-year-old David Farr, was detained by people at the scene until officers arrived.

Around the same time on Thursday, police say they received two more reports of thefts from parked vehicles on Aletta Street, just minutes away from D’Andrea’s Pizza.

Farr was charged with two counts of petit larceny and one count of grand larceny in regards to Thursday’s thefts.

Previous to Thursday’s incident, Farr had become a person of interest in another investigation being conducted by the Saratoga Springs Police Department.

Farr is accused of taking a large amount of musical equipment and personal property from The Zucchini Brothers’ van on March 6. The vehicle was parked at the Myer’s Center on Henning Road in Saratoga.

Police say the investigation into the March incident was running separate from Thursday’s incident. Police say through their investigation they recovered the property taken from The Zucchini Brother’s earlier this week at a home in the Town of Saratoga.

For the incident in March, Farr was charged with criminal possession of stolen property. He is also facing another petit larceny charge for stealing from a parked car on Schuyler Drive on May 9.

Farr was arraigned in Saratoga Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail without bail.
