Police: Man stabbed in Troy cemetery

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say they are investigating a stabbing that occurred in a cemetery on Oakwood Avenue in Troy.

Troy Police say they received a report from an acquaintance of the victim who lead them to the area of Oakwood Avenue north of Humiston Avenue. It was there that police say they located a vehicle with the male victim inside.

The victim was found to have life threatening stab wounds but was able to aid in the investigation. He says he had a meeting with someone in the Frear Park area where the suspects left and the victim pursued them. Both parties stopped on Oakwood Avenue and a confrontation occurred, this is where the victim sustained the stab wounds around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The victim was treated and transported by Troy Fire Department to the Albany Medical Center Hospital for further treatment. He is expected to survive.

Officials are still investigating the case.
